Pentalogía de Cantrell. Primer reporte de caso en Suazilandia

Resumen

Introducción: La Pentalogía de Cantrell es un síndrome raro caracterizado por deficiencia de las estructuras mesodérmicas de la línea media y anomalías cardiacas.
Presentación de caso: Se presenta paciente femenina de procedencia africana y 36 años de edad con ecografía a las 22 y 28 semanas que informa la presencia de asas intestinales libres en líquido amniótico.
Discusión: Se obtiene un recién nacido masculino de 31 semanas de gestación y peso de 2000gr con múltiples malformaciones por las que se planteó la pentalogía de Cantrell. Falleció momentos después de nacido.
Conclusiones: La PC es un raro síndrome dado por defectos congénitos que se puede sospechar a partir de la realización de la ecografía para marcadores de cromosomopatías en el primer trimestre del embarazo posibilitando ofrecer un adecuado asesoramiento a la pareja a través de un grupo interdisciplinario formado por genetistas, ginecólogos y cirujanos.
