Resumen

Se realizó un estudio de intervención educativa con 32 ancianos pertenecientes a  dos Círculos de Abuelos del municipio Manzanillo. Mediante la aplicación de encuestas se evaluaron variables demográficas y el nivel de conocimientos que en materia de emergencias y desastres poseía el grupo estudiado. La mayor parte del universo desconocía las informaciones relacionadas con el tema. Con este fin se aplicó un programa de intervención que elevó el nivel de conocimiento para enfrentar emergencias y desastres. Se considera de gran importancia este método en la prevención de los desastres permitiendo una preparación de la familia para enfrentar los retos de la vida actual.
